I haven't played bowls before. Can I try before deciding whether to join ?
Yes. You are welcome to come and try playing bowls FOR FREE.
You don't need to own any bowls. We have a selection that you can use to see which suit you best.
However, you must wear flat-soled shoes - no heels and no deep tread.
Someone from the Club will show you what to do and can answer questions about lawn bowls and the Club.
How much does it cost to join the Club ?
The membership subscription for 2026 is £55 per person.
The roll-up fee for members is £1 - inclusive of tea/coffee refreshments.
Membership offers you the opportunity to play in our Club competitions
and to play in home and away matches against other clubs.​​

Can I play in County competitions ?
Yes but only through membership of the Club.
When is the bowling green open ?
The playing season runs between April and September.
Club matches take place on weekday afternoons or evenings and on Saturday afternoons.
The green is open for roll-ups on Tuesdays and Fridays 2-4pm.
A rink is always kept available for public use during our afternoon roll-ups.

I'm not a member of the Club - How much is it to play a game?
For non-members the green fee is £4 per person for 2 hours.
This includes tea/coffee and biscuits
plus the hire of a set of bowls if you need some.
